....continuing the G.A.T.A Originals story.

Firstly the design and panel placement:  The structure consists of over 200 individually cut panels that conform to each wearers unique body shape, which in turn allow the wearer a far greater and more free range of movement both vertically and horizontally. Every rider no matter what their discipline is looking for that “winning edge” and we believe that the GATA offers exactly that. Not only is the rider unrestricted in any way, but in the unfortunate event of a mishap they can take comfort that the GATA they are wearing, will protect them far greater than any other protective vest currently available.
Secondly materials used in construction: The outer shell, PREMIUM KANGAROO HIDE. What is so special about Kangaroo hide? Simply put, it is by far the strongest leather fibre structure readily available. Recent studies have suggested links between the kangaroo fibre matrix and that of mions (birds) and reptiles. This has ultimately been further linked to a prehistoric fibre structure, one that has evolved from animals needing to survive in the harshest environments against many predators.

You will notice from the SEM picture below, (scientifically enhanced magnification) the highly organised main fibre bundle structure, which has a secondary fibre mesh in support of the bundles this is combined with a low angle of weave, low fat content and a grain or corium that provides superior strength against cabretta (sheep) goat and bovine leathers of similar thickness levels. This is the main reason why Kangaroo hide is fast becoming the preferred choice for leather products that require light weight yet superior strength.

Directly behind the Kangaroo hide there is a layer of Kevlar, the wonder material of our time, widely used by defence and police forces globally in the manufacture of bullet proof vests etc.

The impact absorbing materials consist of a combination of Expanded Poly Propylene (EPP) and NX. The harder EPP is sewn directly into the Kevlar to spread the initial shock whilst the NX is designed to absorb and is worn closer to the skin. These products were chosen after an exhaustive impact testing regime of several similar shock absorbing materials available.

Finally, the lining - our lining was chosen for its unique moisture management capabilities, it keeps the rider cool under the pressure of competition.

To summarise we at GATA ORIGINALS will look after your safety and let you the rider get on with the business of competing in comfort.
